IMMOFINANZ plants new trees and takes over responsibility for 30 oaks in Warsaw’s Służewiec district

IMMOFINANZ – through its office brand myhive, has implemented another ecological project, planting in the Warsaw Dolinka Służewiecka area and taking care of a total of 30 over three-meter oaks for three years. This project was carried out as part of one of a total of 20 “eco commitments” defined as part of the Climate Leadership Powered by UN Environment Program, which IMMOFINANZ in Poland joined with myhive last year. It is also another initiative confirming the company’s new sustainable development strategy and sensitivity to implementing projects in this area.

The oaks were planted in the Służewiecka Valley in cooperation with the Environmental Department at Warsaw City Council. What is unique in this case is the fact that people associated with the myhive brand have taken care of the new trees for three years.

The aim of the Climate Leadership program implemented in Poland, under which the plantings were carried out, is to build a community of business leaders who, being aware of the need for changes to save the global climate, see these changes as an opportunity for development. Working with external program experts, IMMOFINANZ and myhive developed and then started implementing a total of 20 solutions in nine categories that measurably reduce the negative impact on the climate. Other implemented projects relate to areas such as, inter alia, transport, circular economy, recycling, education or technical solutions.

The trees planted are not the first ESG project by IMMOFINANZ in Poland. Another, popular initiative that the company implements through its second brand, this time through its retail arm – VIVO! there is a strategy of “one tenant – one tree”. As the name suggests, one tree is planted for each signed lease agreement in shopping centers under this brand. Thanks to the finalization of contracts with six tenants for VIVO! Lublin, in November last year, six lime trees were planted in the Lublin suburbs, to which plaques were added with information about the tenants they relate to.

“We have ambitious environmental goals, which we are pursuing through significant group-wide investments. On the other hand, the intensified ecological activities that we conduct in the local field are equally important. The best example of this is when trees are planted. We believe that specific, even single actions can contribute to changes on a global scale, which is why we involve communities in the majority of our actions, be it those in the cities where our VIVO! Shopping centers are located, or over 17,000 people – members of the myhive community, educating them at the same time about the importance of actions for the environment ”, commented Jarosław Retmaniak, Country Manager Finance & Support Poland, IMMOFINANZ.
