DHL Parcel will clean the area around the Czerniakowski Lake in Warsaw

For the second time DHL Parcel joins the nationwide campaign to clean Polish rivers as part of “Operation Clean River”. A group of volunteers will clean the area around the Czerniakowskie Lake in Warsaw.

The cleanup will take place on Saturday, April 23, 2022 from 9:00 to 12:00. DHL Parcel employees will clean the area around the reservoir as part of the “DHL Parcel Czerniakowski Lake cleanup team” team they set up.

– Environmental protection and building awareness on environmental issues are an important area of DHL Parcel’s green activities. That is why it is with great joy and great commitment that we have re-joined the “Operation Clean River” campaign. Our participation is not just limited to cleaning the Jeziorko Czerniakowskie Nature Reserve. The organizers also received logistic support from us, which consists of free delivery of parcels to the people participating in the operation throughout the country – says Magdalena Bugajło, Director of Marketing Communications and PR at DHL Parcel Polska.

“Operation Clean River” is the largest campaign for cleaning waterways in Poland. This year it will be held for the fourth time. DHL Parcel joins it for the second time. A year earlier, DHL Parcel volunteers cleaned the banks of the Vistula River between the Świętokrzyski and Śląsko-Dąbrowski bridges in Warsaw.

The DHL Parcel Polska initiative coincides with a similar campaign organized by the No. 56 Mazowsze Fishing Club based at the Czerniakowskie Lake. The DHL Parcel team along with the anglers decided to join forces to jointly look after the Czerniakowski Lake Reserve. Together it was agreed that employees of the courier company will clean the area around the reservoir, while the anglers will collect the litter a day later.

Participation in the Clean River Operation does not exhaust the activities undertaken by DHL Parcel in the area of environmental protection. A wide range of ecological activities includes both small initiatives, e.g. planting trees or building apiaries, as well as high-budget investments – the creation of photovoltaic farms or the transformation of the car fleet into an electric one.
