ROBYG joins UN Global Compact initiative

ROBYG has joined the United Nations Global Compact initiative. UN Global Compact is the world’s largest initiative bringing together leaders of sustainable businesses. The developer thus confirmed its commitment to activities for the benefit of society, the environment and responsible business, and committed to further improvement.

– Joining the UN Global Compact is for us a confirmation of our commitment to sustainable development and an obligation to set and implement further goals in this area. We take our obligations towards society, the environment and business extremely seriously, the best example of which is the ESG ROBYG Strategy implemented by us at the end of last year. One of its key assumptions is, among others: achieving 100% renewable energy in the construction process by 2024, continuation and expansion of the scope of activities to respect biodiversity and water resources, and continuation of the development of diversity among employees. At the end of 2021, we also published the Impact Report, in which we summarized our impact on the Polish economy to date. Joining the UN Global Compact is a natural consequence of our activities in this field – says Anna Wojciechowska, Head of ESG at ROBYG Group.

United Nations Global Compact

It is the world’s largest sustainable business initiative, involving over 14,000 companies and other stakeholders from nearly 170 countries. The idea of the Global Compact was first presented by the Secretary General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, which was held on January 31, 1999. He then called on world business leaders to support building the social and economic foundations necessary to sustain the new world economy. Upon joining the initiative, ROBYG undertook to implement and apply the Ten Principles in the field of human rights, labor and environmental standards and anti-corruption in its daily business activities.

– The 10 principles of the UN Global Compact set the directions that should be taken into account in the developing world economy. They highlight problems that need support for better and more harmonious development in the coming decades. Therefore, we are glad to be part of this initiative – adds Anna Wojciechowska.

Membership of the ROBYG Group in the UN Global Compact means participation in the world’s largest platform of sustainable development leaders, representing virtually all key business sectors. The tasks of the UN Global Compact include identifying challenges and opportunities in the field of sustainable development, providing practical guidance to its members and promoting actions in the field of responsible business and sustainable development.
