Dartom increases its ECO vehicles fleed with new Volvo FH LNG’s for its 30th anniversary

Dartom has introduced a new fleet of ECO Volvo FH vehicles powered by LNG in time for its 30th anniversary. After a four-year absence, the Volvo brand has finally returned to their fleet. The decision to invest in LNG-fueled cars was motivated by both ecological considerations (because the trucks emit as much as 20% less CO2 into the atmosphere), as well as the desire to continue developing the fleet.

The new Volvo vehicles are equipped with systems that ensure safety and support for the driver while in transic, that include:

  • ESP system – electronic system that stabilizes the car’s path while cornering (prevents the truck from overturning)
  • EABS – a system which, after detecting an obstacle in front of the vehicle, automatically applies the brakes to prevent collisions
  • ACC – a system that, using the radar installed in the front of the vehicle, adjusts the speed of the vehicle so as to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front
  • The I-SEE function (along with the terrain topography maps) is a unique feature that provides topography data from a central serves which is used when approaching a hill. This data allows the maximum use of the kinetic energy of the vehicle in six consecutive stages to save up to 5% of fuel.
  • Smoke detector installed in the driver’s cabin
